Art Therapy Services

In a private and confidential setting, one-on-one art therapy sessions allow for a personalised approach to your mental health and well-being.
Each session is designed to cater to your individual therapeutic goals, using art as a medium to explore emotions, resolve conflicts, and enhance self-awareness. Whether you are navigating personal challenges, seeking emotional healing, or looking to deepen your self-understanding, our individual sessions provide a safe and supportive environment for personal development and growth.

Group art therapy provides a shared, creative experience that fosters connection, support, and collective healing. In these sessions, participants engage in art-making within a community context, allowing for the expression of individual experiences while being part of a supportive group dynamic. These sessions are ideal for enhancing social skills, building community, and learning from the diverse perspectives of others.

Our workshops are designed to focus on specific themes or skills, providing a short-term, intensive experience. They are perfect for individuals looking to explore art therapy without a long-term commitment or for those wishing to supplement their ongoing therapy. Workshops may cover topics such as stress relief, emotional resilience, creative expression, or other areas of personal or professional development.
It’s important to note that while art therapy has its unique characteristics, it can also be integrated into a broader therapeutic approach, complementing traditional forms of therapy for a more comprehensive treatment strategy. The choice between art therapy and other forms of therapy depends on individual preferences, therapeutic goals, and the nature of the issues being addressed.

Sessions are 51-60 minutes each and longer session can be arranged.

Art therapy with Children

Art therapy with children is a form of psychotherapy that uses art media as its primary mode of communication. It’s particularly effective with children because they are often less capable or less willing to express their feelings and experiences through words.

Art therapy can be a powerful tool in helping children navigate emotional and psychological challenges, especially when they might struggle to articulate their feelings verbally. It should be part of a comprehensive care plan and tailored to each child’s unique needs.

  • Trauma and Crisis: Especially effective in helping children who have experienced trauma.
  • Mental Health Disorders: Useful in treating anxiety, depression, and ADHD.
  • Developmental Disabilities: Beneficial for children with autism or other developmental challenges.
  • Chronic Illness: Helps in coping with pain and the stress of chronic illness.

Art therapy with Teens

Art therapy with teenagers addresses unique developmental and emotional challenges faced during adolescence. This period is marked by identity exploration, increased independence, and often emotional turbulence.

Art therapy can provide a valuable outlet for self-expression and emotional processing for teens. Art therapy for teenagers offers a creative and often more palatable approach to therapy compared to traditional talk therapies. It can be particularly effective in reaching teens who might otherwise be disengaged or resistant to conventional methods. As with any therapeutic approach, it should be adapted to the individual needs and circumstances of each teenager.

  • Mental Health Issues: Particularly effective for depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and PTSD.
  • Behavioural Challenges: Addressing issues like aggression, substance abuse, or social withdrawal.
  • Life Transitions: Helpful in navigating changes like family dynamics, school transitions, or planning for the future.
  • Trauma and Grief: Provides a non-threatening way to process traumatic experiences or loss.

Art Therapy with Adults

Art therapy for adults serves as a versatile tool for self-exploration, emotional expression, and psychological healing. Art therapy with adults offers a powerful avenue for healing and self-discovery.

It’s particularly beneficial for those who seek an alternative or supplement to traditional therapy methods. By engaging in the creative process, adults can find new ways to express themselves, explore their emotions, and resolve complex personal issues.

  • Mental Health Disorders: Including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, eating disorders and schizophrenia.
  • Chronic Illness and Disability: Helping to cope with pain, disability, and the emotional impact of long-term health issues.
  • Substance Abuse and Recovery: As part of a recovery program, aiding in expressing emotions and processing experiences.
  • Life Transitions and Grief: Assisting in navigating changes such as divorce, retirement, loss of loved ones, etc.

Art Therapy with Seniors

Art therapy for seniors, or elderly individuals, is a valuable tool for enhancing well-being, cognitive function, and emotional health. As people age, they often face unique challenges such as coping with retirement, loss of loved ones, declining health, and changes in their physical and cognitive abilities.

Art therapy can offer seniors a meaningful way to express themselves, recall memories, and maintain or even improve their mental and emotional health. Art therapy for seniors is an excellent way to engage them in a fulfilling, creative process, offering benefits that extend far beyond simple recreation. By participating in art therapy, older adults can find not only a source of joy and creativity but also a means of preserving their dignity, identity, and quality of life in their later years.

  • Enhancing Quality of Life: Fostering a sense of purpose and enjoyment.
  • Promoting Social Interaction: Group activities can reduce feelings of isolation.
  • Emotional Resilience: Helping to process grief, loss, and change.
  • Memory Stimulation: Engaging with past experiences and maintaining cognitive function.
  • Physical and Mental Engagement: Keeping both mind and body active.
